Located in the heart of West Hollywood, the design for the 6,000 square foot Westime Showroom creates a new destination landmark on the famed Sunset Strip. Aluminum panels systematically shroud the existing traditional façades while lifting up to reveal the interior of the store to the street. The panels house integrated recessed signage and lighting wrap around the periphery of the building. The panels culminate by enveloping a new terrace cut out of the building’s roof. At nighttime, interior illumination reveals a system of perforated gradient panels designed to focus attention towards the showroom.
The bent wrapped system flows into the interior of the store in the form of gypsum board and stucco walls, recessed stone flooring and custom designed watch showcases. The two levels of the showroom are connected by a floating wood and steel stair. The stair is situated to divide the main floor of the showroom into two zones. The existing ceiling planes have been dissolved by a continuous skylight, which floods the interior of the showroom with indirect natural lights, and incised by linear Kreon lights inset between the existing ceiling joists. Inclined planes within the powder coated steel and walnut showcases focus customer’s attention on the watches.
The Westime showroom was designed in partnership with Andrew Lindley at LAND.
